| Daofeng Mei is a postdoc at the Division of Energy Technology. He works on Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) of fuels for heat and power generation with inherent low-penalty CO2 capture. In CLC, combustion air is replaced by oxygen of solid metal oxides, namely oxygen carrier, to avoid the contact of air and fuel, producing a pure CO2 stream (without N2 dilution) for sequestration. Burning biomass fuels, i.e. Bio-CLC, the net negative CO2 emission is realized, which helps to reduce global CO2 concentration. He currently focuses on evaluating oxygen carriers for Bio-CLC in different test rigs. |
