The main issues I work with concern the shaping of pedagogical systems and processes and how this is related to different tendencies in society. Of particular interest are political aspects of educational phenomena. How should we understand the development and recognition of professional expertise? What shapes the events in classroom interaction and what does it mean for social and cultural reproduction? To seek answers to these questions, I work with research on how teaching and education are governed and what this means for the shaping of today's people and institutions. Here I work with research on curriculum theory and comparative pedagogy. I use concepts such as governance mentality and self-technologies. The picture includes attempts to contribute to international cooperation in educational research in research organisations and through editorial work.
